What If Parts Are No Longer Available for My Fireplace?

This happens more often than people realize.

Fireplace manufacturers eventually discontinue parts for older appliances.

When that happens, you typically have two options.

Wood Burning Fireplaces

Option 1: Aftermarket Parts

Sometimes compatible parts are still available from third-party suppliers.

However, not every component has a safe aftermarket replacement.

Additionally, these components may or may not have a warranty and may not perform to the original manufacturer standards.

Option 2: Replace the Appliance

If critical safety components are no longer available, replacement is often the safest and most reliable option.

Safety components include:

  • Gas valves
  • Control boards
  • Ignition systems

If those parts fail and cannot be replaced, continuing to operate the fireplace is not safe.
